2025 Colorado Alpha Connor Thomson Scholarship Winner
Andrew Kearney
Andrew Kearney has served in more than ten chairmanship roles for the Chapter including President, Philanthropy, Scholarship, and Public Relations Chair. This senior and political science major has aspirations for running for office someday, and has honed his leadership skills both on and off campus.
“In honoring Connor’s legacy, I’ve come to realize that the most meaningful thing we can offer others isn’t always a grand gesture – it’s often just our time, our presence, and our willingness to care,” Kearney said.
As a community volunteer with the United Way of Greater Lehigh Valley, PA, Kearney has had the opportunity to support multiple initiatives including organizing food drives, educational outreach, and supporting higher-level staff members focused on securing grants and cultivating donors. According to Kearney, “I believe the behind-the-scenes work – however small – can often have a longer-lasting and more meaningful effect than more visible, short-term efforts.”
Kearney believes in being a consistent and empathetic presence when it comes to connecting with others. “I may not always have the perfect words, but I’ve found that just showing up, listening, and being real with someone can make all the difference.”
Parents’ Week 2025
Parents’ Week 2025 at UC Boulder ended with the annual Phi Psi dinner and scholarship presentation. This year’s ‘Honor Connor’ winner received his signature shirt (Connor’s favored Tommy Bahamas brand) and plaque in front of proud parents and fellow brothers. Connor’s dad, David Thomson, was on hand to congratulate Andrew Kearney who exemplifies the true spirit of philanthropy and giving back to his community.
